Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy is a specialized service that helps you heal from painful or overwhelming experiences without having to stay stuck in the past. Trauma can come from a single event or repeated experiences over time, and it can show up as anxiety, panic, numbness, irritability, intrusive memories, sleep issues, or feeling “on edge.” We provide a safe, structured approach to trauma healing, and may incorporate EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) when appropriate to help the brain and nervous system process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional intensity.
who's it for
Trauma therapy may be a good fit if you’re experiencing:
Flashbacks, intrusive memories, nightmares, or panic symptoms
Hypervigilance, startle response, irritability, or feeling unsafe
Emotional numbness, shutdown, or dissociation
Ongoing anxiety, depression, shame, or guilt connected to past events
Triggers tied to abuse, assault, accidents, medical trauma, grief, or betrayal
Childhood trauma, neglect, or complex trauma patterns
Difficulty trusting, feeling connected, or regulating emotions
what we'll work on
Depending on your needs, we may focus on:
Stabilization skills (grounding, coping tools, nervous system regulation)
Understanding triggers and learning how to respond to them safely
Reprocessing traumatic memories using EMDR therapy when clinically appropriate
Reducing distress tied to specific memories, images, beliefs, or body sensations
Rebuilding self-worth and reshaping harmful beliefs formed through trauma
Creating boundaries and safety in relationships and daily life
Strengthening resilience and restoring a sense of control and peace
what to expect
Trauma therapy is not about reliving your trauma. We move at a pace that feels safe and respectful, starting with tools to help you feel grounded and supported. If EMDR is a good fit, we’ll first assess readiness, explain the process, and build stabilization skills before beginning reprocessing. Sessions are confidential, goal-focused, and designed to reduce symptoms while helping you feel more calm, connected, and in control over time.
